Here is some important information that will help us ensure that you receive the best possible service and care: Insurance and Medicare accepted; call for details. Affiliated with Rhode Island Hospital . Routine Appointments Please call our office in advance to schedule routine and follow-up appointments. Plan to arrive a few minutes early so that your appointment can start on time. Urgent Appointments We are happy to schedule same-day or next-day appointments if you are unexpectedly ill or have an emergency. Please call as soon as you need an appointment so that your problem can be addressed before it becomes more serious. Annual Wellness Services and Physical Exam Appointments We recommend that you schedule your annual wellness services with your yearly physical. The number of wellness appointments available each day is limited in order to accommodate patients with routine and urgent medical needs. The extensive MDVIP wellness program is completed in two visits. The first visit will consist of lab draws and numerous health assessments performed by my staff. About 10–14 days later, we will complete your wellness services along with your annual physical, and we’ll discuss your lab results, health progress and wellness goals. Cancellations We realize your schedule may unexpectedly change. If you need to cancel your appointment, please notify us as soon as possible, preferably 24 hours in advance. On Call 24/7 I am available to you whenever you need me. During business hours, please call the office. After hours, the answering service will page me, so I may promptly return your call. You may also email me anytime, but please note that I may not be able to respond immediately to an email message. Emergency Calls Always call 911 first for any true medical emergency - then call me. Vacation Calls When I am on vacation, there will be another highly qualified physician available to see you. Either my office or answering service will help you to contact the doctor who is available in my absence. Prescription Refills and Messages Every effort will be made to return all phone messages and refill requests the same day they are received. After you contact your pharmacy, they will call or fax our office so that we may complete your prescription. When You Travel If you are traveling and have a true medical emergency, call 911 first. Then contact me so that I can provide appropriate information to emergency care personnel and coordinate your care with a local MDVIP-affiliated physician. For non-emergency matters, please call me first so we can determine the best course of care. Be sure to take your MDVIP Personal Health Record CD with you when you travel, so your health information will be with you at all times. Hospitalizations Keeping you out of the hospital is a priority for us. However, if you need to be hospitalized or you go to the emergency room, I would like to know as soon as possible so I can coordinate your care.
